Telangana GK: Know about Your State Telangana

Telangana is the youngest state in India, officially formed on June 2, 2014, after decades of persistent movements and regional protests. The region, once part of the princely Hyderabad State ruled by the Nizams, merged with Andhra Pradesh in 1956 during the linguistic reorganization of states.
Over the years, people in Telangana felt their region was neglected in terms of development, employment, and resource allocation, leading to widespread discontent and demand for statehood. Multiple agitations occurred, notably in 1969 and in the early 2000s, spearheaded by leaders such as K. Chandrashekhar Rao.
After a long struggle that involved political negotiations, strikes, and sacrifices, the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act was passed by the Indian Parliament in 2014, leading to the creation of Telangana as a separate state.
Hyderabad, a historic city with a rich cultural heritage, was designated the capital, and the state began to chart its own path for growth, celebrating its unique identity and the resilience of its people.
