Punjab is a northwestern state in India, known as the “Land of Five Rivers” and the “Granary of India” due to its fertile alluvial plains and significant agricultural output. The state is famous for its vibrant cultural festivals like Lohri, Baisakhi, and Guru Nanak Jayanti, and folk art forms such as Bhangra and Giddha. Geographically, Punjab features fertile plains irrigated by three major rivers—the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi—that are part of the Indus River system. The climate is subtropical, with a semi-arid region in the southwest.
